Position: HR Generalist

AVA designs, engineers and manufactures industry-leading full volumetric modular units for the multi-family apartment and hospitality industries in the Upper-Midwest in a 180,000 ft2 state of the art facility in Albertville, Minnesota.
Job Description Responsibilities: The HR Generalist will be responsible for supporting HR functions within the employee lifecycle. The primary responsibility will be sourcing quality candidates for non-exempt level positions, confirming their qualifications, and placing them in open roles. Duties include sourcing candidates and inviting them to apply for open positions, screening candidates through phone interviews, scheduling supervisor interviews, conducting debriefs, and acting as the point person for onboarding as well as providing support after hiring.
Talent Acquisition:
- Maintain and develop pipeline of eligible candidates for future open positions
- Select qualified job applicants and conducting phone interviews, and refer them to managers, making hiring recommendations when appropriate
- Schedule interviews, conduct debriefs and serve as contact person for questions from candidates
- Hire employees and process hiring-related paperwork including getting approval for offer details, preparing offer letters, and extending verbal offers
- Initiate background check process
Onboarding:
- Assist with onboarding sessions
- Provide Benefits Overview sessions for new hires as needed
- Work with IT, Accounting, Office Managing Partners, Facilities and others to manage onboarding for new hires
- Enter New Hires into HRIS System and ERP System
HRIS Management:
- Provide support to prepare or maintain employment records related to hiring, termination, leaves of absence, transfers, and/or promotions
- Conduct terminations information into HRIS
- Manage attendance reports and attendance program
- Manage employee acknowledgments and signoffs
Payroll:
- Provide support to prepare, submit, and process bi-weekly payroll
- May run scheduled payroll system-based reports
Employee Relations:
- Assist with navigating employee relations concerns
- Maintain composure and confidentiality required to handle sensitive employee situations
- Assist with Performance Management process
Employment Law Compliance:
- Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations
- Carefully monitor legal compliance for all policies and programs
Benefits:
- Work with HR team to execute annual Open Enrollment process
- Assist in preparation of communications for Open Enrollment and enrolling new hires
- Assist with updates to benefits payroll deductions into HRIS system
- Additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements Education and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in human resources is preferred with 2-5 years of work experience in an HR role (e.g. benefits, recruitment, training, compliance) OR HS Diploma and equivalent years of equivalent year experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required: Proficient in Microsoft Office, knowledge of an HRIS is a plus.
