Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping this position is responsible for supporting our mission to Turn Moments into Memories for our guests. You will oversee all Housekeeping training and development including implementing internal training initiatives designed to engage educate and excite our Housekeeping colleagues.

What you will be doing:

  • Consistently offer professional friendly and engaging service
  • Conduct regular inspections of all guest rooms
  • Oversee and manage the learning and development for all Housekeeping colleagues in the hotel.
  • Manage the hotels Applicant Tracking System (SmartRecruiter) and stay up to date on requisitions and candidate pools
  • Work with Department heads to ensure accurate and up to date recruitment needs
  • Conducting interviews to fill open positions assessing candidate skills and competencies.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition Team to ensure policy and procedures are being followed
  • Develop training and development programs and objectives.
  • Attend regularly scheduled departmental meetings
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Conduct colleague performance evaluations and 121s on a timely basis including corrective action and coaching
  • Plan and execute all yearly staff events
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

Your experience and qualifications includes:

  • Previous Housekeeping experience is an asset
  • Proficient in the use of relevant software an asset (e.g. Microsoft Office Opera)
  • University degree or college diploma in hospitality management an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain high service levels under pressure
  • Demonstrates initiative and the ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to successfully lead and motivate colleagues
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role including: constant standing and walking throughout shift frequent kneeling pushing pulling lifting occasional ascending or descending ladders stairs and ramps
